Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita episode 1 discussion

The first episode was ok, but nothing seems to have really happened story wise. We were just introduced to the main character, Okashi, and a setting where humans have declined. They live in a society of equality and sharing out the work in a way for everyone to fairly earn what little food there is. When the women make a mistake, the men must take the blame and decide the best course of action. With no resolve to killing livestock, it's a given something will go wrong.

They seem to be struggling for food despite a happy feeling and bright animation. Not to mention the Fairy Co factory which is only a short walk from their village. With the amount of bread and various other products being produced, it should easily feed everyone and provide a simpler lifestyle. Too bad they sacrifice quality for quantity.

Cute fairy collection

Fairies are an important factor to the story and are likely to blame for headless chickens and carrot bread's suicide. It was hilarious how such an innocent character committed suicide as an attempt to fulfil its only purpose. They are likely behind the Fairy Co products which cheaply mass produce food for humans probably as a way to receive sweets as a reward. Which brings up the question of, why not create your own sweets? Cheap food can only last so long before becomming sick of it and wanting the better taste again.

Bread suicide

Okashi has an interesting darker side to her which is used to avoid the problems created from admitting there was a headless chicken. Her real meaning is covered up by pretty words to maniplulate others. I'd like to see more of her darker side. The other girls don't need screen time as it's painful to watch their "innocent" nature

Evil grin

I love her cute side, but she's still pretty cute with her evil side.
